Klipsch RF-7 III Floorstanding Speaker

Featuring an all-new titanium compression driver, 90x90 compressed molded-rubber Tractrix horn, redesigned bifurcated cabinet, cast basket Cerametallic woofers and finished in a premium, furniture-grade wood veneer - the RF-7 III floorstanding speaker champions our legendary, high-performance Klipsch sound.

Features:

  • All-New 1 3/4" Titanium Compression Driver
  • 90x90 Compressed Molded-Rubber Tractrix Horn
  • Redesigned Bifurcated Cabinet
  • Dual Tractrix Ports
  • Dual 10" Cast Basket Cerametallic Woofers
  • Premium Furniture-Grade Wood Veneers
  • Assembled in Hope, AR

Rf 7 Iii Horn

90° X 90° TRACTRIX® HORN

The redesigned Tractrix Horn utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth to further improve high-frequency response and extension, while enhancing imaging and dynamics. The compressed molded rubber construction adds high frequency damping to reduce harshness and improve detail. This creates the cleanest, most natural sound possible.

Rf 7 Iii Compression Driver

ALL-NEW DRIVING FORCE

1 3/4" TITANIUM DIAPHRAGM COMPRESSION DRIVER

The compression driver features a new phase plug design to improve phase coherency at the throat of the horn, resulting in improved sound pressure linearity at high frequencies.

Rf 7 Iii Woofers

SPUN COPPER CERAMETALLIC WOOFERS™

Cerametallic woofers represent the pinnacle of Klipsch driver design, maintaining exceptional rigidity, and lightweight construction, for minimal cone breakup and distortion. When paired with the Tractrix horn-loaded compression driver, it provides speaker efficiency highest in its class.

Rf 7 Iii Port Chamber

NEW DUAL CHAMBER + TRACTRIX® PORT

The RF-7 III new bifurcated enclosure allows each 10” driver and port to work independently from the other. This improves the linearity of both drive systems, and minimizes standing wave problems inside the cabinet that can cause frequency anomalies in the sensitive midrange frequencies.

Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the new RF-7 III ports allow for the most efficient air transfer from the cabinet — for the cleanest, most powerful low frequency response on the market.

Rf 7 Iii Cast Frame

CAST FRAME WOOFER DESIGN

Each 10” woofer feature a heavy-duty cast aluminum frame for resonant-free operation. In addition, each woofer incorporates a dual shorting-ring magnet structure design to eliminate modulation of the magnetic flux resulting in improved linearity of cone movement.

Rf 7 Iii Veneer

FURNITURE GRADE WOOD VENEERS

The RF-7 III floorstanding speaker enclosures all utilize furniture grade wood veneers, and are available in Black Ash, Cherry & Walnut.

Klipsch Introduces the Reference RF-7 III Tower Speaker

By HomeTheaterReview.com | December 6, 2017

Klipsch has added a new passive tower speaker to its Reference Series. The RF-7 III ($1,799 each) features a new 1.75-inch titanium compression driver designed to improve sound pressure linearity at high frequencies, as well as a new Tractrix horn design and dual 10-inch Cerametallic woofers (each in its own chamber). The cabinet is made from furniture-grade wood veneer and comes in black ash, cherry, or walnut, with a magnetic grille. Klipsch has also introduced a new center channel, the RC-64 III ($1,499), that uses the same upgraded driver components.

Klipsch announces the debut of its next generation flagship Reference speakers: the RF-7 III floorstanding speaker and the RC-64 III center channel. The premium speakers are enhanced versions of the company's acclaimed Reference II series, delivering hours of unrivaled high performance listening pleasure.

The Klipsch Reference RF-7 III and RC-64 III speakers are infused with the latest technological audio advancements for ultra-sensitive, hard-hitting, accurate sound. The company was meticulous in selecting an ideal tweeter for the speakers before landing on the new 1.75" titanium compression driver with an enhanced phase plug geometry design that improves sound pressure linearity at high frequencies.

A new Tractrix horn further improves high-frequency response and extension while enhancing imaging and dynamics. Proprietary Cerametallic woofers minimize distortion and, when paired with the Tractrix horn, provide ultra-high sensitivity and the highest efficiency in its class.

The modern design enhancements and upgraded materials used to build the Reference RF-7 III and RC-64 III speakers reinforce their solid performance. Both speakers feature heavy-duty cast aluminum frame woofers that eliminate resonance. Cabinets are made from furniture-grade wood veneers and come in black ash, cherry or walnut. Magnetic grilles complement the premium design experience.

The Reference RF-7 III floorstanding speaker is equipped with a unique dual chambered enclosure design that allows two 10" drivers and ports to work independently of each other. This improves linearity and minimizes anomalies in the critical midrange frequencies, generating a very articulate soundstage. The speaker's slanted riser base enhances the appearance of the speaker, while providing a slight upward angle to direct sound at the listener.

The Reference RC-64 III center channel features four 6.5" woofers, while the sophisticated design of the 2.5-way network crossover maintains wide and even sound distribution so the listener hears the center channel information exactly as intended.

"These speakers have earned the nickname 'fire-breathing monsters' for a reason," said Kerry Geist, product manager at Klipsch Group. "They are the best sounding audiophile speaker at this price point."

The Klipsch Reference RF-7 III (US MSRP $1,799 each) and RC-64 III (US MSRP $1,499 each) speakers are now at select retailers and at Klipsch.com.
