The Control SB-5 Subwoofer for the Control 5 utilizes TCB’” (Triple Chamber Bandpass) enclosure design, a JBL exclusive. Facing oneanother in matched pairs, low frequency transducers create equal and opposite stresses that cancel out each other before being transferred to the cabinet. TCB technology minimizes compression effects, acoustically filters higher order harmonic distortion elements, reduces driver excursion and dramatically reduces enclosure size.

The resultant effect is higher output, greater bass response and a distortion factor that is significantly lower than that afforded by a standard ported enclosure of equivalent volume.
